In the lending business for 18 years, Josh Nastal wanted a career where he had control over his income and his schedule. The producing partnership branch manager with Guaranteed Rate, Nastal credits his success to his perseverance. “This industry is very difficult and can be quite emotional,” he points out. “I must always remain level-headed, put my best foot forward and grind through every day.”
Offering all loan types in 11 markets including Arizona, California, Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota, Nastal recently added new referral partnerships in a very tough market while converting to a true P&L model. “My experience, personalized service, creativity and competitive rates and products helps me stand out from other lenders,” he insists. “Clients like working with me because I help them understand the transaction while keeping them well informed.”
A member of West and Southwest Realtors of the Valley (WeSERV), Nastal was named a Scotsman Guide Top Originator in 2021 and 2022. He led donation initiatives for ICAN in Chandler, helped build homes with Habitat for Humanity and assisted with packing food for Feed My Starving Children. He also spent years volunteering as a youth basketball and football coach. He recognizes that being a team lead at Guaranteed Rate helps him stay accountable. “Leadership helps motivate me,” he explains. “It sharpens my decision-making skills and improves my adaptability.”
With hobbies that include weightlifting, basketball, running, downhill mountain biking, snowboarding, tennis and pickleball, Nastal also enjoys watching his older son play college football and his younger son compete nationally in gymnastics. “What I love most is being a father and husband,” he shares. “My proudest moment this past year was helping plan and financially provide for my oldest daughter’s wedding.”
