The funds were awarded via Movement Mortgage’s GraceWorks grant with funding from the KM Foundation, a charity that allocates grants pertaining to education, healthcare, community and social enterprise through its partner organizations. HomeAid Phoenix was nominated for the grant by Senior Loan Officer Chistine Madrid, who also serves as Movement Mortgage’s west division builder director.

“Empowering HomeAid isn’t just a grant — it’s a lifeline,” Madrid shared in a press release. “It’s about constructing more than houses; it’s building hope, fostering community and providing the tools for individuals to rewrite their stories from homelessness to newfound stability.”

House of Refuge, meanwhile, was nominated by Loan Officer Rachel Guerrero and Underwriting Team Lead Heidy Torres. “I believe in what the House of Refuge does to serve individuals who are working to put themselves into better situations and provide stable housing for their families,” Guerrero said.
