Braeden Miller Real Estate Agent

REMAX Fine Properties

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a lifeguard at Wet ‘N’ Wild. I got to be in charge of the different slides and letting people go down! I liked watching over the wave pool and making sure everyone was safe and have so many great memories of it!

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Dallas, Texas and my family and I moved around the Houston area. We moved to Arizona in 2010 and have been here since.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I always wanted to be a professional basketball player and I still play all the time to stay in shape.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I like to go and shoot the basketball around when I have those days and let some steam off playing pickup. I also love to workout, so I like to go to the gym or play games with friends.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I have been the biggest fan of Russell Westbrook since his high school days! He would be number one for sure!

What is Phoenix’s best-kept secret?
How close you are to all of the huge things in Arizona. Here we are, two hours away from the snowy mountains in Flagstaff where you can ski and snowboard, three hours away from the Grand Canyon and 40 minutes away from Kierland, one of the biggest golf areas, all while having the most beautiful sunsets in Phoenix!

What do you love most about the industry?
Working alongside my mom. I have loved being able to work alongside her on a team and being able to learn from her each day. With the industry in general, I love being able to talk to people and I love that I can make such a great impact in one of the biggest chapters of most people’s lives and being able to be with them every step of the way.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Relatability, patience and my overall energy towards my clients. Being a younger agent, I have a lot of energy and drive and I am ready for anything that comes along my way. I understand where most people are coming from when contemplating making this kind of decision because I was just in that boat and know how stressful it is.

I like to let my clients know that I understand them and want what is best for them. If they are not sure or have some doubts, I’d rather talk where we are and know them as people and friends before clients. If they may have some questions, I like to get on the phone and talk and if we think waiting would be better I’d rather wait that time and be 100%.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Getting past the different hurdles that come with each transaction and the best way to go about it. Having my mom next to me to help me navigate them is nice. I have a ways to go and am going to learn more and more.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Door knocking and doing open houses have helped me a lot. Meeting people face to face is the best way. Don’t be afraid to start a conversation with someone because while that person may not be ready to buy or sell, they might know someone that is.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
My girlfriend and I have watched “Love Island” and “Love is Blind,” and we just watched the new “Spiderman” movie.

What’s your favorite meal in Phoenix?
I am a very plain person honestly, so my favorite meal in Phoenix is also my favorite meal everywhere else. I love a good bacon cheeseburger and fries and I’m happy!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Phoenix?
The Phoenix Art Museum.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
When I first got my license, my mom and I had a very interesting experience with a listing appointment. The house had a very strange smell with things everywhere. He also had a smaller backyard, but had chicken, a huge tortoise and a lot of other animals that stayed in the yard. Gave us a strange feeling all around.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I got my degree in business finance in Flagstaff and love to snowboard there. I also don’t like sweets like ice cream, cake or cup cakes, and I’m not a huge fan of chocolate either.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I would say between Oklahoma, Texas and Mexico. Texas and Oklahoma are where my family lives and it’s so much fun and beautiful there. My family and I also love going the Mexico for the beach and all the fun amazing things to do there.

What is your favorite city after Phoenix?
Flagstaff. It is very beautiful there and unlike any other city in all of Arizona. You get to see the different seasons in Flagstaff — the snow, rain and a summer that is not scorching hot.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
The Security Title app has been my most favorite.
