RE/MAX celebrates 2 million transaction sides at annual convention in Las Vegas

by John Yellig

More than 7,000 franchise owners, real estate agents and other attendees from 42 countries congregated in Las Vegas this week for the annual RE/MAX R4® convention, celebrating what the company considers to have been a year of “firsts.”

The real estate franchisor’s 140,000 agents closed more than two million transaction sides in 2021 to become the first real estate brand to do so in a single calendar year, the company said.

The company also noted increased productivity from its agents, who in 2021 clocked an average of 16.3 sides per agent in the U.S., 20.4 sides per agent in Canada and 9.9 sides per agent globally, according to a press release.

“RE/MAX affiliates were the first to close more than 2 million transaction sides in a year because they weren’t focused on noise, they are focused on foundation,” President and CEO Nick Bailey said. “Being successful in this business is all about relationships. The relationship an agent has with a buyer or seller, their broker/owners and the relationship they have with RE/MAX is the foundation that matters.”

Also at the three-day event, RE/MAX unveiled the REAL TEAMS Solution, a new program available to team leaders and broker/owners on its online learning platform, RE/MAX University, as well as a redesigned online agent portal, MAX/Center.

The company also provided an overview of its 2022 national ad campaign for the U.S., “The Right Agent Can Lead the Way,” and for Canada, “Unfair Advantage.” Agents are able to personalize commercials using the new campaigns on the RE/MAX Hustle website.

Attendees of the event also took note of the coming leadership transition at parent company RE/MAX Holdings Inc. Director and CEO Adam Contos is leaving his position at the end of this month and will serve alongside new co-CEO Steve Joyce until then to ease the transition.
