Heather Hutchison, Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending, NMLS # 171304

Guaranteed Rate Affinity

With a family history steep in the industry, Heather Hutchison was destined for success in the field. Her family has been building homes in Tucson since the 1960s, and her mother was in the title and escrow industry for 35 years. “It’s in my blood,” says Hutchison. Her firm roots in and dedication to mortgage lending have led her to achieve numerous accolades, including being named a Scotsman Guide Top 1% Originator for the past two years, being named her firm’s Top Customer Service Originator nationally and earning her way into her company’s President’s Club four years in a row.

Hutchison got her start as a branch manager and escrow officer at age 21. She later spent a year as a real estate agent, which she loved. “I like to connect with my clients and understand what is most important to them,” she shares. She notes that she’s done everything from “wholesale to retail,” culminating in more than 18 years of management experience. Despite the robust scope of her work, she prefers to work directly with her clients.

Describing the shift into her current multifaceted role, Hutchison says, “In 2018 I decided to take a step back and do what I love most, which is focusing on my clients — both the real estate agents I work with, as well as borrowers — and originating loans. My knowledge in this industry is extensive, and understanding how the operations side works helps me be a better originator.”

When away from real estate lending, Hutchison makes time for philanthropic work, having earned a TMC Children’s Miracle Network Spirit of Philanthropy Award for her efforts and commitment.
