Ray and VeLa broke ground on Ray Phoenix, a multifamily development in Phoenix’s downtown region.
Located at 777 N. Central Ave., the 26-story, 523,000-square-foot highrise will include 193 studio apartments, 116 one-bedrooms and 92 two-bedrooms, which also include duplex and penthouse options. The building will also house an array of amenities like a fitness center, yoga studio, outdoor pool, communal kitchen, dog wash stations, gardens and workspaces.
“We feel strongly that it is possible to raise the bar on the urban residential experience while also offering a diversity of price points to a diversity of renters,” Nick Benjamin, principal of VeLa, said in a press release. “We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Ray to execute that vision and to bring this exceptional building and its world-class design, amenities and art program to the rapidly growing downtown Phoenix market.”
Exterior architecture for the project was handled by Johnston Marklee & Associates in partnership with Lamar Johnson Collaborative, while landscaping was designed by Grace Fuller Marroquín of Grace Fuller Design. Interiors were designed by Ray’s in-house design team in collaboration with Parts & Labor.
Focal points of the building’s design are the street-level art gallery and the lobby mural designed by multimedia artist Alex Israel.
