Dominium opens Phoenix affordable community, with plans for two more

by Emily Marek

Vista Ridge (via Dominium)

Dominium officially opened Vista Ridge, a 308-unit affordable community in Phoenix. While the project is the developer’s first in Arizona, Dominium will soon break ground on two additional affordable housing developments in the Phoenix area: Estrella Springs and Suncrest Vista at Canyon Trails, the latter of which will be age-restricted.

Dominium broke ground on Vista Ridge in 2021, with funding from U.S. Bank and KeyBank. The project includes 12 three-story buildings with units ranging from one to three bedrooms. All apartments feature walk-in closets, nine-foot ceilings and ceiling fans, with private balconies or patios for select floor plans.

On-site amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, grilling areas, yoga studio, playground and clubroom.

Estrella Springs and Suncrest Vista at Canyon Trails, meanwhile, will be constructed on adjacent lots at 16985 W. Van Buren St. in Goodyear. Estrella Springs will include 396 units, while the age-restricted senior community of Suncrest Vista at Canyon Trails will include 261 units.

All three of Dominium’s Phoenix-area affordable housing projects benefited from Section 42 of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, which provides funding to increase the supply of affordable rental housing.
