Lessen names new president and CSO: Joshua Swift and Michael Krumwiede

by Emily Marek

The tech-enabled, outsourced real estate property service Lessen hired Joshua Swift and Michael Krumwiede as president and chief strategy officer, respectively. As president, Swift will strategize growth for Lessen’s residential services while Krumwiede, as CSO, will lead scalable business plans and oversee expansion opportunities, as well as capital markets activities.

Previously, Swift worked with Zillow as senior vice president of offers, and Krumweide served as Zillow’s vice president of capital markets and strategy. Both executives were also instrumental in the leadership team at Colony Starwood Homes in Scottsdale as well as its predecessor companies. Combined, Swift and Krumwiede have over 30 years of experience in leadership, corporate strategy, technology and real estate finance.

“Josh and Michael bring a wealth of knowledge and deep experience in the real estate and technology sectors, having developed and led growth of early-stage companies to large-scale national enterprises,” Lessen CEO Jay McKee said in a press release. “Their expertise will be invaluable in shaping and executing our strategic vision as we scale to provide a world-class service offering to our customers.”

Swift also expressed his enthusiasm. “Lessen is strategically positioned to be a market leader in both the residential and commercial services space,” Swift said. “We have a great product that is in high demand. I am very excited about bringing together talented people across the organization and combining them with our best-in-class technology to deliver an outstanding customer experience.”

“Lessen’s enterprise solution tackles age-old property services pain points in one of the largest asset classes in the world,” Krumwiede added. “I’m thrilled to join the talented team at Lessen, build on its strong foundation and help drive our next growth phase.”

This expansion in Lessen’s leadership comes after the company’s acquisition of SMS Assist in January of this year.
