Licensed stockbroker
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Travel and hike cool mountains around the world.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. I would want to understand his philosophical intention of creating BTC, and see if the original vision of BTC is meeting the current state of BTC.
Where is Phoenix’s best-kept secret?
Now, why would I give away Phoenix’s best-kept secret? However, if you twist my arm I would suggest Hidden Valley Trail at South Mountain and the Japanese Friendship Garden in downtown Phoenix.
What do you love most about the industry?
It’s incredibly fulfilling to have helped thousands of families become homeowners and navigate their finances over the years. It’s a privilege to witness the long-term impact of my work, especially when I get to help the next generation – the adult children of former clients – achieve their own homeownership dreams.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
I see the challenges of this job – like interest rate fluctuations, diverse personalities and evolving compliance regulations – as opportunities to hone my expertise. With 25 years of experience, I’ve learned to navigate these complexities effectively. In fact, I often turn these challenges into advantages, using my knowledge and problem-solving skills to guide my clients towards the best possible outcomes.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
Currently binge watching “The Landman” and finishing “Billion Dollar Whale,” by Tom Wright and Bradley Hope via audiobook. It’s about the unbelievable story of Jho Low, a Malaysian financier who allegedly pulled off a huge heist siphoning billions of dollars from a Malaysian sovereign wealth fund. Greed, power and deception on a global scale. Crazy non-fiction thriller.
What’s your favorite meal in Phoenix?
The beef medallions at Rusconi’s. Actually, the entire menu. Highly recommend.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Phoenix?
I really like the Musical Instrument Museum with its bold shapes and copper facade.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I’ve helped clients navigate everything from complex divorce buyouts and lightning-fast closings to, well, let’s just say some “unique” personalities. One situation that definitely stands out involved a client who, believe it or not, quit their job the day before closing! As you can imagine, that threw a major wrench in the works and unfortunately, the deal fell apart. It was a tough lesson for everyone involved, but it definitely reinforced the importance of clear communication by all parties and careful planning throughout the entire mortgage journey.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
Given my adventurous travel history and sports enthusiasm, many are surprised to learn that I am an introvert at heart.
What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
I don’t have a favorite spot, although I do have a favorite vacation. I love trekking in mountainous regions and have had the privilege of trekking in Nepal, Peru, Switzerland, Ecuador, Colombia, Japan, and soon, Patagonia.
