What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Selling luxury wine and spirits. It was never boring!
Where did you grow up?
Sunny Phoenix! I’ve lived all over the Valley, from Tempe/Chandler to Scottsdale and North Phoenix. I love how each community has something unique of its own to offer.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I actually wanted to be a Realtor! Or a teacher.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Hot yoga, lots and lots of hot yoga. Or a nice walk with my dog, weather permitting.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Thich Nhat Hanh, whose legacy as a pioneer of mindfulness and an advocate for peace, continues to inspire me. His teachings on cultivating inner peace and fostering compassion remain valuable for anyone seeking to live a more mindful and meaningful life.
What is Phoenix’s best-kept secret?
Tacos Sahuaro on 32nd St. & Oak. If you like street tacos, you will not be disappointed.
What do you love most about the industry?
Getting to help people find “home.” I find such joy in seeing my clients’ faces light up, when we find just the home they’ve been looking for. I also love knowing that, with each transaction, I’ve secured the best deal for my clients as possible.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Communication … sometimes to the point of over-communication. Buying a home is, in many cases, the most costly purchase someone will ever make in their lifetime. I want my clients to know feel comfortable and confident, and communicating with them every step of the process is something I find so valuable (and is appreciated).
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Being multiple places at once. Sometimes this business is hectic, and having a doppelgänger would be amazing! But I love that I can rely on my team and brokerage to assist if I’m ever in a bind.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Network, network, network! And don’t be afraid to talk about what you do for work. Nobody knows that you can help them buy or sell a home unless you talk about it!
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I am a sucker for podcasts. My listening genres typically vary between business, spiritual and self-improvement. “Women Rocking Real Estate” is a favorite that crosses all of my favorite genres. I also love “Love is Blind.” I’m currently on Season 6 (yes, I’ve watched them all — I’m a sucker for reality TV).
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Phoenix?
The Rosson House Museum — it’s really interesting to see how some of the more elite Phoenicians lived in the 19th-century, before Arizona even became a state!
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I was showing a home and things just felt “off.” We went upstairs and realized that there had been a squatter living in the home, and one of the bedrooms was locked. We exited stage-left immediately!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I’m actually an introvert by nature. I’m extremely outgoing and have an energetic personality … but I need a lot of alone time to recharge.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Italy! I recently spent two weeks vacationing all over Italy, and found each region to be pure magic, from the beautiful architecture and fascinating history to the incredible food found everywhere you go. If I had to pick a specific location in Italy — Florence. Hands down.
What is your favorite city after Phoenix?
Sedona! The hiking is out of this world, the energy of the town is absolutely beautiful and it’s only a quick two hour drive to experience the magic of the Red Rocks.
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Have confidence, be consistent and always be learning.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
Not so much real estate, but Instagram!
Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Logan Mohtashami (@logan_mohtashami), lead-analyst with HousingWire — he’s no-nonsense, educational and debunks real estate/housing rumors with facts. Kelsey Donovan (@kelseysellsscottsdale) — she’s so approachable, and designs amazingly educational content for her followers. Also @elite.mindsets — not a person, but a page … it’s full of motivational content for self-development & growth.
