The Tucson Association of REALTORS® launched a consumer protection campaign that aims to combat deed fraud in Arizona.
The scheme — which occurs when scammers forge signatures and record fake deeds to sell properties that aren’t theirs — cost homeowners in the state over $50 million in 2025, with seniors, Hispanics and absentee owners being the most common victims.
In partnership with the National Association of REALTORS® and Stewart Title & Trust, TAR’s “Protect Your Title” initiative will enroll homeowners in a service that will alert them when any document is filed in their name.
Additional community awareness partners for the campaign include Fidelity National Title and the Pima County Assessor’s Office.
TAR’s deed-fraud prevention efforts also extend beyond the Protect Your Title campaign: Its Property Shield service has reportedly blocked over 2,400 fraudulent property listings since 2025, and the association created the first deed fraud course for Realtors in the state.
