Growing up, James Clark learned about real estate and lending at his family’s mortgage company. Drawn to the independence that comes from operating one’s own business, he didn’t hesitate to jump into the mortgage game himself when it was time. Twenty years later, Clark still loves being in control of his business and helping clients achieve their dreams.
With a formula that includes communication, efficiency and product expertise, Clark approaches each transaction with the mindset of an underwriter to anticipate challenges and ensure the smoothest possible path to closing. “Buying a home can be a very stressful process,” he admits. “I don’t have a magic wand to make it less stressful, so being relaxed when talking to the client and knowing the underwriting guidelines help. I want clients to have confidence that I am there and the loan will close.”
Recognized as a top loriginator by Scotsman Guide and in the top 1% nationally by Mortgage Executive Magazine, Clark strives to be available to everyone involved in a transaction. “It takes a team to close a loan,” he explains, “and letting the clients and agents know I am part of that team makes a difference.”
Clark gives back to first responders and the military. A believer in random acts of kindness, he sometimes delivers surprise gifts of cookies or pizzas to fire stations, police stations or military bases just to say thank you.
