With over 75 years of experience in real estate development, Belgravia Group has assembled a dynamic team that provides seamless transactions for clients and brokers. CEO Jonathan McCulloch attributes the entrepreneurial spirit at the root of Belgravia’s success to founder David W. “Buzz” Ruttenberg, a Chicago industry leader who serves as an inspiration for the firm.

Belgravia’s initiatives are fueled by its customer commitment and experience. Chairman Alan Lev joined Buzz in 1989. Wintering in Scottsdale for the last decade, he drew upon the links with Chicago, such as familiar restaurants and Cubs spring training, to introduce another Chicago brand, Belgravia Group, to the Phoenix and Scottsdale markets. After a multiyear process, Belgravia launched Portico, 112 condominiums in Scottsdale that sold out long before the first deliveries began this winter. The company is currently marketing its next Scottsdale development, Atavia, featuring 88 luxury condominiums.

Belgravia considers itself a family business, despite not sharing a common last name. McCulloch marks 21 years with the company this year, and rounding out the leadership team are Liz Brooks (18 years), executive vice president of sales and marketing; Michael Levine (12 years), senior vice president, who oversees project management; and Amanda Roeder (11 years), vice president and head of design. Alan Lev’s son Mitchell joined the team recently following a career at Bain Consulting and after receiving his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

With an established reputation and consistently earning Chicago Agent magazine development awards, Belgravia has frequent repeat buyers, even across different markets. Recently, a past buyer signed a contract for a home at Atavia. “The contract arrived on my desk for signature, and I immediately recognized the name,” McCulloch remembers. “The buyer purchased a Chicago townhome from us in 2005, when I was just starting my career as the customer service manager for the company. I worked directly with him 20 years ago!”

This magazine named Belgravia Phoenix’s Developer of the Year in 2024, and Portico Condos its Multi-Family Project of the Year in both 2023 and 2024.
