Jeremy Minson, Vice President of Mortgage Lending, NMLS # 1834516

Guaranteed Rate Affinity

Before lending, Jeremy Minson worked in personal finance for a decade at the financial services firms Vanguard and John Hancock Investments. He switched to mortgage lending after multiple friends who worked in the industry kept telling him he would thrive in it, based on his education, work history and knowledge of everything finance.

“The idea was to take that experience and grow a business in lending that helps educate buyers on the process while serving them at a high level and being compensated for it,” says Minson, vice president of mortgage lending with Rate.

His experience working for financial services firms made his transition to lending seamless. It also provided the foundation for him to educate clients on areas of finance outside of mortgages, like credit repair, investment strategies and tax considerations. That way, they could incorporate it all into their overall financial plan.

Minson, along with Kyle Pugel and Kaycee Hoyt, make up The Pugel Team. Working on a team gives Minson the bandwidth to assist industry partners and clients 24/7. He and his team are transparent with clients about expectations, rates, fees and the process, letting them know if other, better options are available elsewhere. “It’s that transparency that leads to us receiving more referrals, even if a particular client didn’t use us,” he says. “Almost 95% of our clients come from referrals from our real estate partners and past clients. We have very loyal and dedicated agent partners that trust us with their clients and their business, and consistently refer us to friends and family.”

Minson is board treasurer of STARS, a local nonprofit that supports individuals with special needs at work and socially. In May, he became engaged to his longtime girlfriend.
