Gilbert is the No. 8 city in the United States to raise a family, according to a ranking from WalletHub.
The finance website analyzed 182 of the most-populated U.S. cities based on family fun, health and safety, education and childcare, affordability and socioeconomics, and ranked Gilbert among the top cities in the country.
In addition to its low crime rates and high median salary, Gilbert is the city with the highest percentage of families with young children and has the fourth-lowest divorce rate in the country. The Phoenix-area suburb also offers plenty of family-friendly activities for kids of all ages.
That means that while it’s not necessarily an affordable city to live in, families with children may be willing to pay the price.
Elsewhere in Arizona, Scottsdale ranked as the No. 12 city to raise a family, Chandler ranked No. 23 and Peoria ranked No. 49.
