I think 100% companies who advertise keep all the commission are hurting all of our business. Newbies get minimal education unless their board requires it. I’ve been selling for 40 years and I’m still keeping up with changes, take classes and get new designations. I work with some agents who know next to nothing about pricing, writing a contract, etc. It’s scary out there!!
Real Estate is an exciting and ever-changing business. A requirement to have a mentor for your first year in the business, and help with all your transactions during that time would add value and expertise. Although I didn’t work for Coldwell Banker, I know agents that began their career with CB, and they were required to attend structured training for new agents. It showed in their knowledge and expertise once they were on their own. I’ve been in Real Estate full-time since 2003.
