Coldwell Banker Realty announced that William McFadden joined its North Scottsdale office as an affiliate agent. McFadden previously worked as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley after leaving his job as a bond trader for the Chicago Board of Trade.
“I have always had a strong interest in real estate. I grew up on a large ranch in the North of Ireland and remember going to land auctions with my grandfather,” McFadden shared in a press release. “When we sold our home in Chicago to be closer to our granddaughter, I decided to hang up my trading jacket and seize this opportunity to start a new career.”
McFadden says he interviewed with several firms but knew as soon as he met Branch Manager Amanda Thomason that he’d found the right brokerage. “I knew I wanted to affiliate with Coldwell Banker, because it is a brokerage I would be proud to call home,” he said.
In addition to working as a bond trader in Chicago, McFadden also worked at the interest rate trading desk for Bank of America. While in Illinois, he also volunteered as a commissioner on the firefighter’s pension fund in Morton Grove.
McFadden holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Galway and a graduate degree in fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, as well as a graduate degree in business administration from the University of Limerick in Ireland.
