Arizona has been named one of the 20 safest states in the U.S., according to WalletHub’s 2022’s Safest States in America list.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across five metrics covering key safety indicators, including personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety and emergency preparedness. States were also compared across 53 key safety indicators.
Arizona ranked No. 20 on the list overall. It ranked No. 8 for emergency preparedness and No. 9 for workplace safety. The Grand Canyon State’s overall ranking was hurt by finishing No. 49 in road safety.
The top 10 safest states, according to WalletHub, in order: Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Utah, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Minnesota, Washington and Rhode Island.
