Susan Nicolson appointed Arizona Real Estate Commissioner

by Emily Marek

Phoenix real estate veteran Susan Nicolson was appointed commissioner of the Arizona Department of Real Estate.

“As Arizona continues its trend of growing, it requires leaders who understand the consumer and business needs that will make this growth possible,” Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs said in a media release. “The individuals I have appointed will bring with them decades of real estate industry experience to help the state thrive.”

Nicolson previously served in leadership roles with Arizona REALTORS®, the National Association of REALTORS®, the West and Southwest REALTORS® of the Valley (WeSERV) and the Women’s Council of REALTORS®.

“The Arizona Association of REALTORS® is grateful for Susan’s knowledge and collaborative nature and looks forward to continuing its strong working relationship with Susan as she assumes her new position,” said Eric Gibbs, board chair for Arizona REALTORS®. “Having received her real estate license in 2002, Susan is eminently qualified for the position and will well serve Arizona, its real estate licensees, consumers and the real estate industry as a whole.”

Nicolson has also owned her own brokerage, founded a real estate school and served as co-president of the Phoenix West Rotary Club.
