Courtney Weston Real Estate Agent

Duarte Real Estate Group, Keller Williams Realty Phoenix

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?

I had the unique opportunity to work as a full-time traveling sales consultant! Taught me a TON about building relationships, adapting to different environments, strong sales skills, etc.

Where did you grow up?

All over Arizona… I have lived in Glendale, Tempe, Mesa, Maricopa and Gilbert.

Growing up, what did you want to be?

A fashion designer.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?

Take a puppy, Ivy, on a walk then come home and snuggle her! She is the best stress reliever.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?

Selena Quintanilla! She is one of my idols and paved the way for Latin women being successful in business. She passed away the year before I was born, but I grew up listening to her music and learning all about her life!

What is Phoenix’s best-kept secret?

Deseo A Coffee Shack… look it up and go, you won’t regret it.

What do you love most about the industry?

The fact that we are part of people’s lives changing. The reason why I wanted to go into sales was to help people, and that is exactly what a Realtor does!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?

I am a first-generation college graduate AND real estate investor in my family who is passionate about building generational wealth. I take pride in what I do and I have grit.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?

Trying to be everything for everyone. I recently attended a conference that made me realize this is my biggest weakness. One of the keynote speakers said, “When we try to be everything for everyone, we end up being nothing to anyone.”

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?

Don’t wait for them to call you. Take action, be patient and follow-up! It may be a “no” right now, but it may be a “yes” in six months. Stay top of mind with a solid touch plan and nurture, nurture, nurture.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?

I am a HUGE podcast girl so I love to mix in a little fun girl talk with some insightful business discussion. Here are a few of my favs: – It’s Me TINX – Built HOW – Pretty Smart – Socially Modern – Empire Building

What’s your favorite meal in Phoenix?

I am a sucker for Barro’s Pizza. I grew up eating there then worked there as my first job in high school. Pro tip: order their cheesy breadsticks with a side of pizza sauce.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Phoenix?

The Biltmore Hotel – pure perfection!

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

Walked into a house to find a window completely shattered in the master bedroom. Shards of glass were everywhere!

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?

I went to kindergarten twice… my teacher said I was too much of a social butterfly. My mom was terrified to tell me, and I ended up being ecstatic about it, LOL. Fast forward to high school graduation and receiving a full-tuition scholarship to NAU. I say it is the secret to my success!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Without a doubt… Maui, Hawaii. I am totally Type A and always have to have a plan, but Maui is the only place I am OK with just going with the flow, no plans! There is also so much yummy food to indulge in.

What is your favorite city after Phoenix?

Sedona – it is GORGEOUS. It’s where I married my high school sweetheart and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?

Focus on the work and the success will come.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?

Instagram!! I love to market myself on social media and have taken on the tagline of being the #AZReeltor
